For centuries, Revolcadero Beach has been chosen as the annual nesting ground for three species of turtles:

• The Olive Ridley
• The Black
• The Leatherback

Each year, ecologists at the Princess Hotel collect the eggs and hatch the young turtles with their "Turtle Liberation Program" returning over 150,000 turtles to sea thus far.

At Turtle Dunes, the turtle is the inspiration for both the logo and the positioning of the country club. The family of Turtles signifies the multiple generations (children, parents, and grand parents) that the club is designed for and caters to.
