Golf is an ancient game, founded over the naturally irregular landscape of seaside dunes, where strategic competition was made more interesting and beautiful. The most long held traditions of golf, at its best, are found in these simple beginnings—playing a strategically interesting game alongside the beauty of nature.
In fulfilling the vision for Turtle Dunes, the development team took great care to prepare for the integral restoration of the sand dunes landscape that is the heritage of the site. Not only does this present a uniquely beautiful experience for golfers today, it also marks a historic return of a unique environment where, among other things, a variety of Sea Turtles once nested and flourished.
The 18-hole championship dunes course at Turtle Dunes was designed by leading golf architect and craftsman, Tripp Davis. The course is operated and managed by Troon Golf—the leading luxury golf management company in the world. Turtle Dunes has the paramount golf teaching facility in Mexico with the Ochoa Golf Academy.
The vision for creating the landscape and play of the game at Turtle Dunes represents a return to the early game of golf; where seaside dunes serve as the grounds over which Tripp Davis, golf architecture's leading craftsman, has designed a strategic gem that flows with constant interest and variety. While there are five sets of tees designed to allow all players to choose their level of challenge, each tee was designed to have its own unique sense of strategy and personality. It is truly a golf course where no one is left out with sets of tee boxes ranging from 5,000 yards to 7,200 yards.
